Antique Grain Thresher Large

Antique primitive flint grain thresher.  This is the largest we have ever seen.

Dating from the 18th Century wooden grain threshers were embedded with flints or sharpened stones.  Used to remove the grain from ears of wheat in an agricultural setting.  These were designed by the Romans to be pulled by donkeys over the cut wheat to help remove the wheat from the chaff and the ears from the stalks.  This item is ancient and is in used and imperfect condition.

Use as decorative item, mounted or leaning against the wall.

This particular oak grain thresher is particularly heavy and will require two people to lift it at delivery destination. As delivery is generally via a one man service you will need to assist with removal from the van at delivery destination. Due to size and weight this item must be hand delivered by our network of couriers to the UK mainland via a door to door service.
