Antique Trug Jefferson
This charming wooden trug would have been used to carry and display produce in local French market gardens.
The handmade timber carrier is very crudely constructed, using reclaimed materials. This is not a mass produced item and would have been made by the gardener/ farmer in small quantities.
We have not restored these trugs in any way, expect very rustic condition. Our French trugs have signs of historic woodworm which is either treated or dormant.
Dark metal handle contrasts beautifully, adding charm and character.
Fabulous for magazine, fruit, gardening. They make wonderful merchandising props.
