Vintage Marine Coral Specimen Medium – Finger Coral
This type of coral grows up from the sea floor, but without any secondary branching. They can grow to be up to 2.5 m (8 ft) tall. They can grow on both flat and sloping sea floors at a depth of between 1 and 20 m (65 ft). They are one of the few types of hard coral whose polyps can commonly be seen feeding during the day.
We have been lucky enough to secure a relatively large example of this finger coral.
This coral type has a finger like structure. Each piece of marine coral is totally unique and may not look exactly as you see in the picture.
Coral samples are simply beautiful and enchanting to look at. These vintage can be quite fragile so we would recommend keeping your coral either in a cabinet of curiosities or under a glass dome to prevent it becoming dusty and grey. It would look fabulous displayed with a few other specimens of marine or nautical structures. Our starfish or sea horses specimens would work wonderfully.
Height 19 Centimetres, Width 23 Centimetres, Depth 25 Centimetres
