Charming Antique Hand Constructed French Timber Trug
Believed to date from the early 1900’s this charming wooden trug would have been used to carry and display produce in local French market gardens.
The handmade timber carrier is very crudely constructed, using reclaimed materials. This is not a mass produced item and would have been made by the gardener/ farmer in small quantities. The handles are well worn and rusty but could be polished with steel wool and sealed if you wished to …. but they are perfect to us just as they are.
We have not restored these trugs in any way, expect very rustic condition.
Fabulous for magazine, fruit, gardening. They make wonderful merchandising props.
