Antique Puglian passata bowl Medium Luca

With a glorious irregular glaze this 150 year old bowl is was used in Puglia, Italy to prepare home made tomato sauce. The bowl was filled with fresh tomatoes (skins removed) then the bowl was placed in the sun for several days to 'sun dry'. The mixture was stirred every day and the passata was only ready when 50% of the tomato juice had evaporated. Perfect for fruit or a stand alone decorative item. The glaze is worn in places from being used daily. Each bowl is unique in glaze, size and makers marks within the pottery.

Rustic terracotta bowls. Unglazed on the external face. Each pot has a unique and fascinating green glaze within.

These are hand thrown antique bowls that were once used in the kitchen are never 100% perfect so please expect worn and used condition with small (not structural) cracks and bruises that to be expected from an item of its age and previous culinary use. These were never created as fine pottery pieces they were handcrafted in local village potteries to store precious food supplies and were often used for generations to store and give longevity to the perishable contents.

Once your order has been received, we'll confirm everything by email before our delivery partner contacts you directly to arrange a convenient delivery date.

Our specialist furniture delivery service is carried out by a dedicated one-person furniture courier.

To help ensure a smooth delivery, we kindly ask that a capable adult is available to assist the driver with larger furniture items where required. Delivery is made to the ground-floor entrance of your property.

Many of our customers find this service quick, efficient and an excellent value option for larger furniture deliveries.

PREMIUM TWO-PERSON DELIVERY / ASSEMBLY

For complete peace of mind, we also offer a premium two-person delivery / assembly service on many of our larger furniture pieces.

Our experienced team will carefully deliver your furniture, position it in the room of your choice and professionally assemble it where applicable, leaving you free to simply enjoy your new purchase.

SELF-ASSEMBLY

Some furniture, including selected dining tables, is supplied flat-packed to ensure safe transportation. Where self-assembly is required, comprehensive instructions and all necessary fittings are included, making assembly straightforward.

We're delighted to deliver throughout most of mainland UK.
