YellowConfitMedium-1
These wonderfully decorative antique confit pots originate from several regions in France.
These highly collectable jars characteristically have the classic yellow coloured pottery and glaze and date from the early 1800s right through to the late 1800s. Historically they would have been used to store Confit Du Canard and they would have originally had lid or stopper.
Due to their robust nature, they have survived the passage of time in kitchens, gardens and barns all over France. The pots will typically be cracked and historic repairs may be evident. Occasionally they may have just one handle or no handles at all.
Perfect left empty as a sculptural item on a console table or a wooden plinth - or fill them with dried lavender, cow parsley or poppies. Please note that these vessels are not waterproof and if using for fresh flowers you would need to insert a waterproof liner.
Please expect cracks and damage to the glaze, repaired cracks and chips. Their beauty is in their imperfect nature.
