Natural Character & Finish

This collection is intentionally crafted to celebrate a highly rustic aesthetic, inspired by the weathered beauty of traditional barn timbers and aged sleepers. The solid Ash is band-sawn to reveal its natural grain, texture, and surface detail, resulting in a tactile, organic finish.

As part of this design, you can expect natural cracks, splits, knots, and surface variations. These features may be present upon delivery and will continue to develop over time as the wood responds to its environment. Rather than imperfections, these are considered a defining part of the piece—ensuring each item is completely unique with its own character and story.

Outdoor Performance & Ageing

When used outdoors, particularly in the UK climate, solid wood will naturally expand and contract with seasonal changes in humidity and temperature. This movement may result in additional surface cracking, which enhances the evolving rustic appearance.

Over time, exposure to sun and rain will allow the timber to develop a soft silver-grey patina, gently bleaching the surface. This process occurs more quickly on horizontal areas and gradually creates a beautifully weathered, cohesive finish across the entire piece if left untreated.
