Full of history and character, our Antique French Deconstructed Armchair & Footstool is a beautiful example of traditional French craftsmanship, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.

Carefully stripped back to reveal its original construction, this elegant antique armchair celebrates the beauty of traditional upholstery. Exposed hessian, original horsehair padding, vintage stitching and beautifully aged timber detailing create a wonderfully relaxed, deconstructed look, while its gently curved silhouette and shaped arms retain the timeless charm of classic French design.

Accompanied by a matching footstool, this characterful pair brings an effortless sense of warmth, texture and history to any interior. The combination of natural upholstery materials and timeworn timber creates a beautifully understated look that sits equally well alongside antique and contemporary furniture.

Perfect for a country house, sitting room or thoughtfully styled bedroom, the armchair and footstool make a wonderful statement together. Whether enjoyed in their beautifully deconstructed state or reupholstered in a fabric of your choice, these original French antiques offer a timeless addition to a collected-over-time home.

Please Note

As genuine antiques, these pieces bear the character and history of their previous lives. Signs of age and historical use, including variations in the timber, upholstery, stitching and surface finish, are to be expected and form part of their individual charm.

The exposed upholstery, traditional materials and visible upholstery fixings are intentional features of the deconstructed design.
