Product Title: Antique Elm Black Cabinet | Fonteyn
Fonteyn is a beautifully proportioned antique elm cabinet, combining generous storage with the depth and character of a genuinely aged piece of furniture.
Crafted from solid elm, the cabinet retains a wonderfully timeworn black painted finish, rubbed and softened through years of use to reveal warmer timber tones beneath. This naturally developed patina is particularly beautiful across the four panelled doors and substantial top, giving the piece a layered, individual finish that could never be replicated convincingly on new furniture.
Behind the four doors is a generous interior with a full-width shelf, providing practical storage for everything from crockery and glassware to table linens, books and everyday household pieces. Simple dark metal ring handles and hardware complement the aged finish without detracting from the character of the elm.
At 210cm wide, Fonteyn has the presence of a substantial sideboard while retaining a relatively restrained 49cm depth. It would sit beautifully in a dining room, large kitchen or living space, where its dark finish provides a striking counterpoint to pale plaster, stone and more contemporary furniture.

Beautifully Aged Elm
The surface is an integral part of Fonteyn's appeal. Areas of worn paint, exposed timber, scratches and tonal variation have developed naturally through age and use, creating a wonderfully nuanced finish.
Rather than looking overly polished or restored, the cabinet retains the character that makes antique furniture so compelling. Against a quieter contemporary interior, the combination of dark paint and exposed elm introduces warmth, texture and a genuine sense of history.
Practical Antique Storage
The four-door design conceals a generous shelved interior, making Fonteyn as useful as it is decorative. Its proportions lend themselves particularly well to use as an antique sideboard or dining-room cabinet, with ample surface space above for artwork, lighting and favourite objects.
Antique Character
As a genuine antique, historic knocks, scratches, worn paint, colour variation, small splits, old repairs, surface irregularities and other signs of previous use should be expected and celebrated. These characteristics are not considered faults; they are part of the history and individuality for which the piece has been selected.
Please refer closely to the photographs, which form an important part of the product description.
