Full of history and character, our Antique French Deconstructed Sofa | Louis is a beautiful example of traditional French craftsmanship, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
Carefully stripped back to reveal its original construction, this elegant antique sofa celebrates the beauty of traditional upholstery. Exposed hessian, original horsehair padding, vintage stitching and beautifully aged timber detailing create a wonderfully relaxed, deconstructed look, while the gently curved back and shaped arms retain all the charm of classic French design.
The contrasting natural calico seat covering brings a softness to the piece, beautifully complementing the rich, earthy tones of the exposed upholstery. Original turned timber legs to the front add further character, completing its timeless silhouette.
Perfect for a country house, contemporary living room or beautifully considered bedroom, Louis makes a wonderful statement piece. Its combination of antique character and understated elegance works effortlessly in modern rustic interiors, bringing warmth, texture and a sense of history to the home.
Whether enjoyed in its beautifully deconstructed state or reupholstered in a fabric of your choice, this remarkable antique French sofa is a piece to treasure for years to come.
